First off, thanks for those that stopped by and took the time to read this journal entry, I really appreciate it~
I know I haven't been around on DeviantArt too much but I've been pretty busy on two life projects.
The first one is college. I'm fortunate enough to have the chance to continue my education and I enjoy being focused on a career driven path. I haven't been drawing as much video game fan-art and -part- of that is because of the time put into college...
...a second part as to why I haven't been uploading online as much as I would like is because I am also very fortunate to have found a great friend here near me that put his personal time, his personal efforts, and funds into something that he has driven toward and he's entrusted some of my "in real life" friends and myself included into his project. We have a great cast that come from all walks of life and we want to keep this going strong. During my off time between family and school, I've been pouring my free time into this as well, creating "cosplay/parody" busts of our players in an anime/fighting game inspired relation for this project...
That project is called, "SpeedStars".
"SpeedStars" is a new upstart gaming channel, probably a bit akin to shows you may find on Youtube or TwitchTV...but do you remember "Nickelodeon Arcade"? Our show will be more like that but on a bigger scale, with different styles of play such as:
*Team vs. Team playoffs with goal oriented scoring-
*One vs. one Speed Runs through a level-
*Team vs. Team Speed Runs-
*And possible livestream, chat-interaction play with newer games and consoles.
Most of the gaming that will take place will be from the NES, SuperNES, Genesis, or old-school arcade games, back when muscle memory, twitch gameplay, and unforgiving difficulty were most prevalent. There will be plenty of charisma, plenty of screw ups and bloopers, and a wide range of skill to be shown from novice players, intermediate players (such as myself), or hardcore oldschool players that totally remember their days putting in mad time into their dusty old consoles as a child.
......BUT WE CAN'T DO IT ALONE.
My crew has created an Indiegogo page for our "SpeedStars" project to raise funds for our show, improve project, and keep the motion going.
****WE WILL -NOT- POCKET ANY OF THE FUNDS!**** Any of the contributions that go toward the channel goes right back into the project and the final product. As a contributor, you also have the chance to earn gifts as rewards for your donations, so please of you don't mind to spare a few minutes of your time, PLEASE check out this webpage:
